The Fabulous and The Fail

7 Aug

Remember how I show y’all all the new really cool Black Radiance products? Well last week I picked up 2 products to test out. I grabbed the duel ended concealer that I featured in the last edition, and then I picked up a gorgeous lipgloss. One was fabulous and one was a complete fail.

I was so excited about trying out the Black Radiance Impressions lip gloss in Rose Desire. It’s the absolute prettiest lip gloss I’ve ever seen. I wanted to rip the packaging off right in the store. It was that pretty. At first glance, it’s a rich warm almost raspberry pink. The magic happens when you look at it from a different angle. It flashes completely gold! Not gold shimmer but completely solid gold. I was giddy about how amazing this product was going to make my lips look. I stood in the checkout line with visions of beautiful deep pink lips with that gold dimension. I just knew this was going to be my holy grail lip gloss. I get home, and eagerly rip off the packaging. I open it up, and my first though it, “it smells a little funny” not expired product funny just…odd. I could ignore it though because the color was so beautiful. I slick it on my lips and…nothing. I load on more product in hopes of the gorgeous lips I saw in my head…nothing. Maybe it’s the lighting! So I go into another room for some better lighting…nothing. It was nothing more than a super sheer barely glossy slightly pink lipgloss! I was so disappointed. This product is an epic fail.

Thank goodness I am much more please with the concealer I got. I use it in so many ways. The stick side is great for covering my dark marks and acne scars. It’s also really good for neutralizing the color of my lips for my new favorite nude lip. When I use it under my brows, it makes for a nice brow bone highlight. I use the liquid side under my eyes. I don’t really have dark circles, but it perks me up anyway. The liquid side has a certain slip to it that makes it glide on smoothly. I’m so adding this product to my everyday routine. Even when I only wear this concealer and a light dusting of powder, I look polished and put together. This product is fabulous!

The Cutest Brushes Ever

5 Jul

Anyone who knows me knows that as much as I love shopping, I do not like spending money. So anytime I can find good beauty products at a discount price, I’m a very happy camper. I was helping my brother shop for an outfit to wear to his friend’s 8th grade promotion when I came across these babies at Marshalls.

For 5 dollars, I could resist getting one a blush brush and an eyeshadow brush. I don’t care what anyone says you can never have too many eyeshadow brushes. Plus they were hot pink with little rhinestones! If I were born a brush, I would be an Essential Beauty brush.
I immediately took them home and gave them a very thorough washing. As great as their prices are, Marshalls isn’t exactly know for having the most hygienic shoppers. I know very well that those brushes have been opened up and felt on by more than one customer. These brushes are super soft. I love them. Compared to my ecoTools blush and eyeshadow brushes, these ones win hands down. I can’t wait to go back and get some more!

First Thoughts: Formula 10.0.6

12 Jun

Now it’s time for my first review! Here at Four Foot Fab, we like to review using the Four F’s: Finance, Function, Flaws, Final Verdict.

To kick it off, I’m reviewing some products I purchased from Formula 10.0.6. And so far, mama likes. Formula 10.0.6 is a company owned by Bonne Bell that makes skincare products that cater to teens.

Finance:All of the Formula 10.0.6 products are either $5.99 or $6.99. The cleanser I bought was $5.99, and the moisturizer I bought was $6.99. I had a coupon for buy one get one half off, so my total came out to about 11 dollars, even better! Even without the coupon, these products were well worth it. They were cheaper than the Clearasil products that I was using before.

Function: The cleanser is definitely one of my favorite face washes. I’ve tried cleansers from Neutrogena, Clean & Clear, Clearasil, Proactiv, and Burt’s Bees, but this is one of the few I’d recommend to a friend. It smells really yummy. The passionfruit and green tea combo does great things for my life. Out of all of the cleansers I’ve tried, this one does the best job of removing my makeup. It does a really good job of cleaning my face without drying it.
Unfortunately, the moisturizer is just okay. It does a decent job of moisturizing my skin, but it doesn’t live up to it’s mattifying claims at all. In fact, I think it makes my face oiler than normal. Not cool =( Don’t think I’ll be buying this one again.

Flaws: It was hard to find a flaw in my new favorite cleanser, but alas it has no acne fighting ingredients. As a long time sufferer of acne, this was a bummer but nothing a little acne fighting facial scrub can’t fix.
The moisturizer however, has numerous flaws. First, there is the fact that it doesn’t do what it says it’s going to do. I didn’t feel mattified at all. Second, it’s a little runny. If you don’t screw on the cap completely you’ll find yourself with wasted product. And lastly, it contains parabens. I don’t mind parabens myself, but I know some of you paraben free princesses out there will have a big problem with this.

Final Verdict: The cleanser is fabulous! Go out and try it. The moisturizer however, i’d pass on it. I’m definitely going to try more of their products. They’re inexpensive, they smell nice, and the packaging is super cute! You can check out rest of their products at .
